ForSight Robotics announced that its JASPER platform has been used in 26 fully robotic‑assisted cataract surgeries on human patients. According to the company, every procedure was finished robotically, with no need to switch to manual surgery.

The surgeon operates JASPER by telemanipulation, sending hand movements that the robot converts into ultra‑precise motions inside the eye. The system supplies high‑definition 3D visualization, can scale the surgeon’s motions, filters out natural hand tremor, and continuously tracks the eye’s position using computer‑vision algorithms.

Patients received the same topical anesthesia or mild sedation normally used for cataract operations and were discharged the same day, showing that the robotic workflow fits within the standard outpatient setting.
