Doova robot hears “Hey Tuya, help” and alerts family with live video

Tuya Smart unveiled its new AI home companion, Doova, at IFA 2026 in Berlin. The wheeled robot is aimed at seniors who want to stay independent while having an extra layer of safety.

Doova navigates using LDS LiDAR and a four‑microphone array that pinpoints where a voice comes from. At the same time, AI vision analyses a person’s skeletal posture to understand the scene.

When a user says “Hey Tuya, help,” Doova rolls toward the speaker and then waits 60 seconds. If the person does not answer, the robot begins an emergency response workflow, as Tuya says.

The workflow sends a two‑way live‑video alert to designated family members, letting them see what is happening and arrange assistance right away.

Tuya has not said Doova automatically detects falls or contacts 911 or a professional monitoring service directly. For now, it adds support but does not replace a dedicated medical‑alert system.
