Kimberley Le Court won a stage.

Kimberley Le Court won stage six of the Tour de France Femmes after overcoming difficulties and winning a reduced sprint, while Marlen Reusser kept the overall lead.

Le Court joined a breakaway group, sprinted with 300 meters to go, and beat Cedrine Kerbaol, with Puck Pieterse coming in third.

Le Court had a mechanical issue before the final climb but her teammates helped her get back in time to make her move.

Le Court tried to stay patient and recover after a big effort, then she and Riejanne Markus joined the breakaway.

There was no change in the standings after the 153.4km ride, with Reusser leading Demi Vollering by 12 seconds and Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney in third.

A group of three riders had an early lead but were caught with 54km left.

World champion Magdeleine Vallieres set a fast pace on the penultimate climb, splitting the group and leaving about 30 riders to compete for the stage win.

A group of six got away, then Le Court and Markus joined them, and the breakaway held off the chasing group.

Le Court won the stage after a similar victory last year when she beat Vollering and Niewiadoma-Phinney in a sprint.
