0:37semiconductor industry. Today, nearly

0:40half of the company's engineers are

0:42graduates from this university.

0:47Beyond curriculum and development, the

0:49comedy has also invested in laboratory

0:52facilities to support the university

0:54training programs in integrated circus

0:57and semiconductor technologies.

1:01The approach also helps address the

1:03shortage of highly skilled workers, a

1:06challenge facing many of Vietnam's

1:08technology companies.

1:11Each university may graduate only a few

1:13hundred semiconductor engineering

1:15students each year, but demand in

1:17Vietnam is far greater. I hope it can

1:20develop more coordinated programs to

1:22increase both the number and the quality

1:24of engineers so they can meet the needs

1:27of the high-tech industry.

1:30>> Beyond partnerships between individual

1:32universities and businesses, a new model

1:35is emerging in western Hanoi. Launched

1:38in May, this initiative brings together

1:40the city, Vietnam National University

1:42and Hal La Hite Park to develop a

1:45science and innovation district where

1:47students, researchers, startups, and

1:50technology companies can collaborate in

1:52one location.

1:55>> Our goal is not only to attract more

1:58high-tech companies to invest in Halak

2:00High Park, but also to generate tangible

2:03value for the economy. We hope to enable

2:05Vietnam to master more advanced

2:07technologies, commercialize more

2:09high-tech products, and create more

2:11highquality jobs.

2:15>> The government is also working to

2:17strengthen these links, creating

2:19platforms that connect businesses with

2:21universities, researchers, and

2:23international technology partners.

2:26N with the role of connection amongst

2:30enterprises, universities and

2:34international and domestic partner to

2:37support effectively the Vietnamese

2:40enterprise to approach the high

2:43technology in the world.

2:46As Vietnam invests in emerging

2:48technologies, collaboration between

2:50government, universities, and businesses

2:53is becoming an increasingly important

2:55part of its innovation strategy.

3:01>> Once again, we can clearly see that

3:02Vietnam's growing partnerships between

3:04government, universities, and business

3:06are helping strengthen the country's

3:08innovation capacity. Tonight,

3:10>> indeed. But at this model expands, what

3:13more is needed to turn these successful

3:16collaborations into long-term

3:17competitive advantage? We spoke to

3:20business leaders for their perspectives.

3:25Vietnam has a strong foundation to

3:28develop high-tech manufacturing and

3:29innovation partnership with leading

3:31universities across the country covering

3:34internships, graduation, recruitment,

3:36project based trainings, etc. providing

3:40tuitionfree education, financial support

3:43and hands-on industrial training and

3:46this particularly in fields such as

3:48semiconductor, AI, software engineering,

3:52automation and advanced manufacturing.

3:54>> Number one takeaway is start early on in

3:58combining vocational education with

4:00industrial practices to develop talents

4:03early on and make them ready for

4:05manufacturing. And it's about building

4:07long-term partnerships early on and

4:10setting up then a road map especially

4:13for young talents.

4:15And it's about solving real world

4:17problems only with real world case

4:20studies actually young talents can learn

4:23to put their knowledge into place and

4:25that's something I see where Vietnam can

4:28further improve. There is government

4:31funding. Um and that process uh should

4:35be transparent should be uh administered

4:39properly uh such as the such that you

4:42know the university investors

4:45stakeholders are able to understand you

4:48know what is necessary what is required

4:52uh in order to access you know state

4:55funding and I think broadly speaking

4:58administrative procedures are large

5:02Hopefully they'll become more

5:04transparent, more label. Uh protection

5:07of intellectual property. Of course,

5:09that's going to be very important.
