Local gold prices are higher than global prices by VND6.3 million per tael.
The price of a gold ring went down by 0.7% to VND142.8 million per tael on Friday. A tael is equal to 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces. This is a unit of weight.
Globally, gold prices went down on Friday. Investors made a profit after the US inflation data came out. This data was not very high, so gold prices went up. But now, they are going down.
The price of gold in the market went down by 0.5% to $4,326.75 per ounce. Gold prices went up on Thursday, but then went down by 1.3%.
US gold prices for December went down by nearly 1% to $4,382.50. Gold prices went up after the US jobs data came out. The inflation data was also not very high, so people thought there would not be a rate hike next month.

Ilya Spivak also said, "Gold prices may go up and down, but they could have a big increase by the end of the year. If gold prices go above $4,400, they could reach $5,000 by the end of the year."
