Vietnam's weather center says the depression is near 19.7 degrees north and 108.8 degrees east. It is over the eastern Gulf of Tonkin. The center was found at 7am on August 8.
Winds near the center are at level 6, or 39-49km/h, with stronger gusts.
The depression moves slowly at 5-10km/h. It has not moved much since August 7, going only 5-10km/h.
In the next 12 hours, it will move east-southeast at 10km/h and weaken.
By 7pm on August 8, it will be near Hainan Island, China, with weaker winds.
The depression will bring strong winds and big waves to the Gulf of Tonkin. The sea will be rough. There will be strong winds and big waves.
In the northern and central East Sea, winds will be strong, and waves can be 2-4 meters high. The sea will be very rough.
Boats in the area may face strong winds, big waves, and thunderstorms.
The weather agency says the depression will not become a storm and will not hit Vietnam.
