I Help My Orchids Bloom All Year with One Simple Rule

I have a Phalaenopsis orchid. I've had it for years. It's the only orchid I've kept alive.
Moth orchids are easy to find and not too expensive. But they can be hard to care for. I get mine to bloom two or three times a year with one simple trick.
Don't give your orchid too much attention. This can hurt it. Too much water, food, pruning, and sunlight are bad for orchids.
Leave your orchid alone. Just water, feed, and remove dead flowers, but do it gently.
I don't fuss over my orchid. I just leave it alone.
Too much water can kill orchids. They need good air around their roots.
If you give your orchid too much water, its roots might rot. This can make the roots turn brown or black.
Water your orchid every 7 to 10 days. In winter, do it less often.
Make sure the orchid's roots don't sit in water. Let it drain after watering.
Check the roots to see if your orchid needs water. If they're green, wait. If they're grey, water.
Put the orchid in a sink with water for 10-15 minutes. Then let it drain for 10-15 minutes.
Don't feed your orchid too much. This can hurt it. I learned this with my last orchid.
Feed your orchid a little every 3 to 4 weeks. Use special orchid food. Don't feed in winter.
There are many orchid foods. Follow the instructions so you don't overfeed.
Many people throw away their orchids when the flowers die.
Always water the roots first before feeding. This keeps the fertiliser from hurting the roots.
When the flowers fall off, cut back the flower stem. But only cut it back if it's brown.
If the stem is still green, cut it back to the next node. This helps the orchid bloom again.
Moth orchids are cheap and easy to find.
Put your orchid in bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight is too harsh.
Orchids grow under trees in the rainforest. They like filtered sunlight.
Too much sunlight can hurt the leaves.
East or west windows are good for orchids. Anywhere with indirect light is fine.
Bathrooms are good for orchids because they're humid. You can also put the orchid on a tray of wet pebbles.
