Tesla’s steering‑wheel‑less Cybercab starts service in Austin

The Cybercab can only be used in Austin, while the Robotaxi fleet – which includes Model Y cars, Robovan vans and Cybercabs – also runs in Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando and Tampa.
Austin’s fleet has 45 Cybercabs out of a total of 314 robotaxi vehicles.
The Cybercab has no steering wheel or pedals; it was built from the ground up for autonomous rides and has a two‑seat cabin with a large screen.
Customers cannot buy a Cybercab. Tesla has opened an interest form for fleet buyers who want to add the vehicle to their own robotaxi networks.
Tesla posted on X “the future has arrived in Austin,” and fans such as Sawyer Merritt shared videos of their first rides.
