I Took My Kids to a Holiday Park That Was Much Cheaper Than Center Parcs - Here's My Honest Review

We realized we didn't want to pay high prices at Center Parcs anymore. My husband bought two Fruit Shoots for five pounds, and that was the last straw.
He was very upset about the price.
We decided to try a different holiday park. We couldn't justify the high prices of Center Parcs after that.
Many people have trouble paying for Center Parcs. We looked at other options like Haven and Parkdean. Then we found out about Eurocamp and its cheap European holiday breaks.
Eurocamp has many fun activities in 11 countries. We chose Domaine des Ormes in France, which has a forest, lakes, and a castle. It has different types of accommodation, from camping to luxury hotels.
The park had four swimming pools and a big aquapark with slides.
Our lodge had everything we needed, including free wifi and a bedroom for each child. It was perfect for our family.
The main living space had a kitchen, sofa, and dining table. It was a bit smaller than Center Parcs lodges, but we didn't mind.
We loved sitting on our outdoor sofa, reading, playing cards, and watching movies.
Our lodge was great for outdoor living, with a big covered deck and another sofa. We spent most of our time outside because the weather was so good.
It was the perfect place to relax and have fun as a family. We played games, drank wine, and enjoyed movie nights.
The zipline was a cheap and fun activity for all ages, costing only three euros.
The park's aquapark was amazing, with slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool. We spent hours there every day, and the kids loved the zip line.
The zip line over the lake was very popular, and it only cost six euros for two goes. The kids were daredevils and loved it.
There were many other activities, like kids' clubs, archery, and horse riding. But we were happy with the pool, downtime, and eating out.
My ten-year-old built up his confidence in the outdoor playground and could climb the whole 20ft structure by the end.
The park had two restaurants and two bars, as well as a convenience store. We liked Chez Madeline, which had great pizzas and a kids' menu.
We also went to the local supermarket to buy food and found a great place for steak frites on the way home.
We enjoyed eating on our lodge's deck and having pizzas from Chez Madeline, which started at ten euros.
I'm glad we tried Eurocamp. Driving in France was not stressful, and we had a great time.
The best moments were the small ones, like my 12-year-old buying breakfast croissants and my son climbing the frame.
Domaine des Ormes was big enough to be fun but small enough to spend time together as a family. It was worth trying something new.
Center Parcs is known for its woodland accommodation.
There are still some deals available at Domaine des Ormes this summer, but some accommodations are sold out. A four-night stay in a two-bedroom lodge costs 975 pounds.
If you plan ahead, you can save even more money. For October half term, Eurocamp costs 289 pounds, while Center Parcs costs 1,699 pounds.
You have to consider travel costs, but for us, the cheaper activities and nice surroundings made it worth it.
If you can, drive to France. We took Brittany Ferries from Portsmouth to Caen, and it was easy. We had a cabin for the kids, and getting through passport control was quick.
I stayed at Domaine des Ormes Eurocamp. A four-night stay in a two-bedroom lodge costs 975 pounds, and October half term costs 289 pounds.
The cost of taking a car on Le Shuttle starts at 69 pounds, and 89 pounds for Brittany Ferries.
