Rapper Benjamin Haggerty, better known as Macklemore, was removed from Ed Sheeran’s U.S. Loop tour after videos showed him chanting “Free Palestine” onstage. Following his exit, he announced on Instagram that he would give the entire $1 million net earnings from the tour to six organisations that support Palestinians.

The controversy also drew the attention of Robert Kraft, the New England Patriots owner and Gillette Stadium landlord, who had publicly opposed Macklemore’s performance. After Macklemore’s challenge, Kraft said he and Ed Sheeran each pledged $2 million to humanitarian aid in Gaza, with Sheeran confirming the match in a statement.

Ms. Rachel’s call matters because it links celebrity wealth with a concrete humanitarian response. If other high‑profile, especially white, entertainers follow her example, the combined donations could significantly expand aid for children in Gaza and keep the crisis in the global conversation.
