Malaysia Sees More Tourists from Singapore

Singapore is a major source of tourists for Malaysia, helping its tourism industry, said Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore Datuk Dr Azfar Mohamad Mustafar.

He likes plans that encourage Singaporeans to visit Malaysia many times, staying overnight and longer, said at the 38th Travel Malaysia Fair 2026.

Malaysia is a great holiday spot for Singaporeans due to global fuel surcharge issues.

It takes about one hour by air or four to seven hours by bus or car to get to Kuala Lumpur from Singapore.

Malaysia had 42.2 million visitors in 2025, up 11.2% from the year before, making it Southeast Asia's most visited country.
