In the video from 2020, El-Sayed is walking on Mackinac Island during his campaign for governor. The island is a well-known vacation spot in Michigan.
El-Sayed said, 'I hate Mackinac so much.' He was talking about one of Michigan's most famous vacation spots, which is on an island in Lake Huron.
El-Sayed also said, 'It's funny because if we win, this will be like our summer home.' He was referring to the governor's summer house on the island.

El-Sayed said, 'I'm just going to be like every time I've come here. I've hated it. Why am I here?'
The video went viral on social media, with many conservatives criticizing El-Sayed for looking down on the town.
There are concerns about El-Sayed's ties to extremist groups and how this might affect Jewish voters.
