Celebrities Cook Up Regional Flavors in Vietnam’s New “Sao Chon” Show

The reality series “Sao Chon” made its first appearance at Vietnam iContent 2026. The show turns Vietnam’s regional cuisines into a celebrity challenge, letting well‑known artists and online influencers step into local kitchens.

Over ten episodes the programme will travel to Ha Long, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Thanh Hoa, Da Nang, Hue, Nha Trang, Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau and Can Tho. Each location is chosen for its distinctive food culture.

In each stop the participants taste signature dishes – from Ha Long’s fried squid cakes and crab noodle soup to Hai Phong’s red rice noodle soup with crab, and from Hanoi’s pho to Hue’s beef noodle soup. The series highlights how the same seafood or rice can be cooked, seasoned and served in very different ways across the country.

Beyond eating, the celebrities and influencers investigate where ingredients come from, watch local chefs at work, try hands‑on cooking steps and meet the tradition‑keepers who preserve each recipe. Their successes and struggles become part of the show’s storytelling.

The project is organized by the Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information together with VnExpress, FPT Online, the Vietnam Chefs Association for Vocational Training and Employment and other partners. Techcombank acts as the strategic partner. The series also supports Politburo Resolution No. 80, which aims to promote Vietnamese cultural values.

All ten episodes will be streamed on the “Sao Chon” landing page inside VnExpress’s Travel section and on other digital platforms.
