Jonquel Jones and Caitlin Clark Lead Team Spoon to Win in WNBA All-Star Game

Jonquel Jones, Nneka Ogwumike, and Dominique Malonga made history in the WNBA on Saturday night.

The All-Star party was big in the league's 30th season.

Jones had 22 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists to help Team Spoon win 129-122.

Jones was named MVP after playing with a heavy heart. She became the first player to win many awards.

Jones said basketball helps her feel better when she is sad.

Malonga dunked in the first half, but Team Spoon had many players score. Allisha Gray had 19 points and Clark had 17.

The game was played in Chicago in front of a record crowd of 19,783 people.

Jones said the big crowd shows that the league is growing and people want to be part of it.

Ogwumike scored 11 points and passed Maya Moore for the most points in All-Star Game history.

Kelsey Mitchell had 28 points for Team Coop, and Mabrey scored 23 points in the first half.

Mabrey said she likes to score early in the game.

WNBA greats Cynthia Cooper and Teresa Weatherspoon chose the All-Star teams.

Clark went 5 for 15 from beyond the arc and had five assists in her return to the All-Star game.

Clark said she was happy to play in the game after missing it last year.

Clark scored 11 points in the first 2.5 minutes and made another 3-pointer early in the second quarter.

Malonga got a big cheer for her dunk in the first half.

Reese was excited for Malonga after the dunk.

Paige Bueckers said Malonga makes the game look easy and is exciting to watch.

Malonga was the first player to dunk in the WNBA All-Star Game since 2022.

Former WNBA players Lisa Leslie and Dawn Staley were at the game, along with former NBA player Dwyane Wade.
