Indian Tourist Jailed for Stealing Diamond in Singapore

A 41-year-old Indian tourist, Mangroliya Manojkumar Kurjibhai, was arrested at Changi Airport and pleaded guilty to theft on July 17.

Mangroliya and his partner, Serasiya Milan Ramnikbhai, entered a store on June 19 to see a diamond.

Mangroliya told his partner to swap the diamond with a fake one, and the partner did so by spitting out the fake diamond.

The police found a diamond at Changi Airport Terminal 3 in June 2026.

Serasiya hid the real diamond in his mouth, but cameras caught him. His case will be heard on July 24. The police have evidence of what happened.

The pair had made a fake diamond in India that looked like the real one. They knew the real diamond's details, but it's not clear how.

The two men came to Singapore as tourists.

In Singapore, a person who steals can be jailed for up to seven years and fined.
