Pickleball Star Anna Bright Rides Motorbike Through Ha Giang’s Stunning Landscape

American pickleball star Anna Bright, the No. 2 ranked women’s player in the world behind Anna Leigh Waters, visited Vietnam this month. She began in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, where she tried bun cha and Vietnamese coffee.

"The scenery along the way was unbelievably beautiful, and my driver took such good care of me—treating me like a princess," Bright said in a vlog documenting her journey. She rode a motorbike from Hanoi to Ha Giang, stopping at Ma Pi Leng Pass and the turquoise Nho Que River.

During the trip she admired the Dong Van Karst Plateau and the famous "Deadly Rock" viewpoint. She also explored Tham Ma Slope, known as the "Nine‑Bend Slope," a 5‑kilometre road with nine sharp turns that offers great photo opportunities.

Bright was born in 1999 and played tennis at the University of California, Berkeley. She switched to pickleball in 2022 and now competes on the APP, Major League Pickleball, and the PPA Tour, where she is known for her quick reflexes and powerful backhand.

Her adventure shows that top athletes can enjoy travel and culture as well as sport. Fans can see a new side of a champion while learning about Vietnam’s dramatic landscapes.
