0:00A few rides are good, but is it actually
0:02worth it? Let's send a spend a morning
0:05exploring Ho Chi Minh City by free bus
0:07and find out.
0:13>> In a dynamic city like Ho Chi Minh
0:15[music] City, getting around everyday
0:18can cost even more than eating. But now,
0:21both locals [music] and tourists can
0:23travel across the city without paying a
0:26single [music] fare. Today's journey
0:29begins at Ham Nghi bus station. We're
0:31taking free bus route no. 3, one of the
0:34city's free [music] bus services
0:35connecting several iconic attractions.
0:38This is not a short-term [music]
0:39promotion, but a new policy being
0:43implemented on a wide range free bus
0:45services. And today, hop on with me
0:47discovering Ho Chi Minh City in a new
0:50way.
0:51From the moment [music] you step on
0:52board, the first impression is a clean
0:55interior and cool air conditioning
0:56[music]
0:57making every ride comfortable and
0:59enjoyable.
1:01Our first stop is Bach Dang Wharf, a
1:03scenic riverside [music] destination
1:05overlooking the Saigon River.
1:08>> Now, I'm here at Bach Dang Wharf and
1:10it's time to plan my next stop.
1:14>> To look up bus routes, residents [music]
1:16and visitors can use the Ma Chi Go
1:18application. Continuing on [music] free
1:20bus route no. 3, our next destination is
1:24the Central Post Office. From the
1:26comfort of the bus, [music] passengers
1:28can simply enjoy the changing city scape
1:30through the windows. After less [music]
1:33than 10 minutes on the bus, we arrived
1:35at the Central Post Office. With its
1:38historic architecture and more than a
1:40century of history,
1:42>> [music]
1:42>> it's a favorite destination for visitors
1:44and remains one of Ho Chi Minh City's
1:46most iconic landmarks. Leaving the
1:49[music] Central Post Office behind, we
1:51headed to Tan Dinh Church, our final
1:53[music] destination for today's city
1:55exploration.
1:57On bus route no. 3, we met international
2:00visitors who chose this free bus service
2:03to explore the city.
2:06>> For me, free buses are very helpful for
2:08people on a tight budget as they allow
2:10them to travel around the city without
2:12any cost. And in fact, taking the bus
2:14helps reduce the number of cars and
2:16motorbikes on the road, making it much
2:18more environmentally friendly.
2:22>> Based on our observations, we have
2:23recorded very positive feedback from
2:25both residents and tourists. The number
2:27of passenger trips has increased by 72%
2:30compared to the same period last year.
2:32We believe that every bus journey not
2:34only takes passengers to their
2:35destination, but also offers travelers a
2:38chance to discover the unique character
2:40of the city.
2:42>> Free to ride, [music] small changes in
2:44mobility making a big difference for a
2:46more accessible [music] and sustainable
2:49city.
