Vietnam Opens First Smart Police Station
On August 15, the Police Department launched a pilot Smart Police Station kiosk. It operates 24/7 with multilingual support and is located at 89 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, near Hoan Kiem Lake.
Major General Nguyen Manh Hung said the Smart Police Station is part of a system to provide convenient, secure, and efficient services using population data and digital identification.
The Smart Police Station offers five main services: reporting public security issues, making emergency calls, learning about criminal tactics, finding police offices, and getting legal answers.
People who are overcharged while shopping can use their ID or passport to log in and report the issue to the Smart Police Station.
Inside the booth, users can describe an incident by voice, and an AI system will analyze and record the information. The station then sends the report to the right police unit.
Users can also add video clips and images as evidence when submitting a report, helping police handle cases more quickly.
The information is recorded in the Ministry's system and sent to the police unit responsible for handling the case. Authorities can then contact and assist the person.
The Smart Police Station also has an SOS function for emergencies, allowing people to quickly contact local police.
This helps foreign visitors and enhances Vietnam's image in the eyes of international friends.
The Smart Police Station aims to establish a process for receiving and handling reports, assisting users, and updating them on outcomes, improving transparency and efficiency.
Hanoi is the first city in Vietnam to pilot this digital transformation model. More services and utilities will be added in the coming period.
The pilot is led by Dinh Hieu.
