0:41traditional stone houses into homestays,

0:43transforming heritage into a source of

0:45income, attracting both domestic and

0:48international visitors.

1:05community-based tourism in Khuoi Ky

1:07since 2016, Ly Thi Diep transformed her

1:10family's traditional stone house into a

1:12homestay.

1:16>> Our homestay features a cave where

1:18guests can enjoy meals and even spend

1:20the night. The cave room has received

1:22excellent reviews from visitors.

1:28>> What draws visitors to Khuoi Ky at first

1:31is a striking landscape of stone houses.

1:34From there, they enjoy a delightful

1:36first-hand experience of the culture of

1:38the Tay people.

1:41>> But they were so happy around the

1:42bonfire and they showed genuine

1:44happiness at sharing the customs, the

1:47culture, and everything with just the

1:49travelers. I felt that we were a big

1:51family.

1:53>> Yeah, it it's just today is first day,

1:56so it's like the beginning of my

1:58experience, but it starts in a very good

2:00way. So, I'm really happy.

2:05>> Inspired by pioneering families like the

2:07H'mongs, and with support from local

2:09authorities, many residents who once

2:12relied on farming have confidently

2:14embraced community-based tourism.

2:19>> We have local residents access loans

2:21from the Social Policy Bank and organize

2:23visits to successful community-based

2:26tourism models so they can learn from

2:28them.

2:33>> The ancient stone houses of

2:35are now telling a new story, one of how

2:37local people are turning heritage into a

2:40driver of development. They ensure that

2:42every visitor helps preserve the

2:44cultural values nurtured through

2:46generations.
