K-pop Star Feels Bad About His Name

An SM Entertainment singer said he wanted a different name when he started his career because he felt bad about his own name.

A YouTube show called Sana’s Fridge Interview had a guest named Wonbin from the group RIIZE, who looked like his name when he debuted.

Wonbin thought differently. In school, he didn't think much about it, but when he was going to debut, he got worried. Wonbin said he couldn't use the name 'Wonbin' because a famous actor had the same name and was very handsome. Wonbin felt it was a big problem. He wanted to change his name.

He said, “I was scared people would say bad things about me. It was a big problem, so I wanted a new name,” and he told everyone the name he thought of, “Alex,” which made people laugh.
