Thailand's Largest Island Sees Fewer Hotel Guests

A key hotel measure, RevPAR, dropped 8.7% from last year. This is according to a report from Cushman & Wakefield Thailand.

Hotel rooms were not as full, with 80% occupancy. This is down from 84.1% the year before.

The average room price fell 4% to 6,820 baht per night.

Cushman & Wakefield said fewer international visitors caused the weaker performance, especially from April.

The company said the Middle East conflict and higher flight prices caused the slowdown, affecting travel from Europe and the US.

Thailand had 17.36 million international visitors from January to July, down 3.05% from last year. The Ministry of Tourism and Sports reported this.
