0:36Especially, like, I went to auditions in Times Square,

0:39like since I was 11 years old.

0:41And so to be there, like, seeing your face,

0:43it's really -- it's truly surreal.

0:45And also the whole cast. I really love the entire cast.

0:47Like, truly, it's a group of incredible people.

0:49And none of us were, like, being cool about it.

0:51We were all like, holy [bleep]

1:10Like, we're supposed to, like, catch ourselves -- yeah, yeah.

1:26So, let's talk about this

1:27because it's a big love triangle.

1:29Annie, your character, has two love interests on the show,

1:31Rory and Ellis,

1:33and people are Team Rory or Team Ellis.

1:37-Because maybe she doesn't end up with either.

1:39We don't know. -Yeah. Who knows?

1:40-I don't want to ruin it.

1:41But when you're reading the script,

1:42which team are you leaning?

1:45[ Laughter ]

1:46-I -- well, I mean, I -- -Team Rory.

1:48-It's -- Are you Team Rory?

1:50-Yeah.

1:52[ Laughter ]

1:53Rory's the lake house?

1:55-Rory is from the city, and Ellis is from Muskoka.

1:58-Ellis is Muskoka.

2:00I think I might go Ellis.

2:01-Okay. A lot of people are.

2:02I mean, it's kind of a split.

2:03I think they're both --

2:04Something amazing about the show

2:06is that the love triangle is like,

2:08both boys are really incredible people

2:10and like, really lovely. There's no kind of like villain.

2:12-Right right right.

2:14-Right now I'm Team Muskoka and Team Annie.

2:16I'm Team -- I know that's like a cop out,

2:18but I'm Team What's Best for Annie,

2:19and I think Muskoka. [ Laughs ]

2:20I'm so scared. -I think Muskoka is gorgeous.

2:22-I'm so scared. It's beautiful.

2:23Have you been? -Yes, I have been.

2:24-I can't believe we got to film there.

2:25It's incredible.

2:26-It's the most beautiful place on earth.

2:28-Ever. Yeah. I feel so -- -Really, it's gorgeous.

2:30-Yeah, I feel so lucky that we -- and I love Canada.

2:32And I just feel so lucky that we got to be there.

2:34-Well, how do we describe the show

2:36and who your character is and who you're playing?

2:38-So, my character is named Annie,

2:40and she finds out that her estranged grandfather

2:43left her an island --

2:45left her and her twin brother an island in Canada.

2:47-Come on. -And -- yeah.

2:48And then she goes, and she finds out

2:49she has a secret sister. I don't think that's a spoiler.

2:52First ep. -Yeah.

2:53-First ep. -First ep.

2:55-First ep. Guys, it's been out a week.

2:57-First -- yeah, guys, it's been out 22 hours,

3:00so I think you should know everything.

3:01-So I think everyone should have seen eight episodes.

3:02-"First ep" is funny. -But I...yeah.

3:05And then she kind of, like, gets into this sort of love triangle

3:07and meets these new friends.

3:09And it's sort of like a massive exploration

3:12and sort of summer of self-discovery.

3:14And we're kind of, you know,

3:15a lot of the press has been like, it's this love triangle

3:17and the sisters and it's fun and it's cute.

3:19But then it is kind of, like, gut-wrenching.

3:21And I don't say I didn't warn you,

3:23so I apologize in advance.

3:25-No, people are posting themselves online crying.

3:28-I've seen, I've seen it. I feel so bad.

3:30-No, you are -- you're moving people and people are --

3:34actually, it is kind of a gut punch

3:35because you're actually charming and funny

3:37and so you don't expect anything.

3:38I have a photo of you from --

3:40this is you driving a boat in episode one.

3:43-Yes.

3:45-This ep 1. -Ep 1, guys.

3:47-And this is clearly --

3:49are you terrified or are you having fun?

3:51-So, Annie is terrified.

3:53I, as Ella, actually was kind of having the time of my life

3:57because they let me do my own stunts.

4:00I know. I was like doing donuts on a lake,

4:02on the lake, in a tinner.

4:03It was, like, amazing.

4:04-You're a New Yorker.

4:05We don't know how to do that stuff.

4:06-I know! I know! -I know!

4:07-But you did it! -I believe in you.

4:09-Thank you. I believe in you, too.

4:10Yeah.

4:12-If I could do it, you could do it.

4:13-I'm not ep 1 type of material.

4:15I'm not ep 1. -You are. You are.

4:17-I'm so not ep 1.

4:18-But I was weirdly really confident in my boating skills,

4:21and I kind of felt like I was good at it.

4:23I was the only person who had confidence in me

4:26because I am not, um...

4:29They were nervous to let me do any kind of physical --

4:31I crashed my bike the day before we started production,

4:34which is why I'm in long sleeves in that photo.

4:37-Oh, is that right? -Yes.

4:38-Your bike? Like a bicycle?

4:40-Well, actually, fun fact.

4:42I sent the photo to you guys to --

4:44and I was -- it was too bloody for television.

4:47[ Audience murmurs ] Um, I know.

4:48I lived to tell the tale, but -- -What happened?

4:50-I just was like... -This is not good.

4:53-I was like...

4:55-That's your first -- that's your first problem.

4:56-Oh, as soon as someone's doing that on a bike.

4:57-Once you're doing that, it's like you're not

4:59riding it correctly. -It's over.

5:00-Can you ride a bike? You're a New Yorker.

5:01-Of course I can ride a bike. -Yeah, me too.

5:03-Yeah, yeah, yeah. Of course. -Me too. Me too. Me too.

5:04I also know how to ride a bike.

5:05Um... -[ Laughing ]

5:07It's a hand-cranked bike?

5:09-It was -- Yeah, it was old school.

5:11-Wow. -It was actually a unicycle.

5:12-Oh, congratulations. -No. Thank you.

5:14It was really -- it was just -- I just -- I hit a pothole.

5:16It was a whole thing, and I was swerving

5:18and I flew, and a lot was happening.

5:19And then -- -Where? In New York?

5:22-Yes. Oh, no. In Toronto. In Toronto.

5:24-You were in Toronto? -Yeah.

5:25[ Audience member whoops ] And I just -- yeah, whoo.

5:26[ Laughter ]

5:28I felt overly confident, I would say.

5:29And then it's amazing that they let me on the boat

5:32because now I have my boating license,

5:33but I still do not have a driver's license.

5:36[ Laughter ]

5:37-So, you get everywhere by boat now.

5:39-If you see me on the Hudson in a tinner,

5:42know that I'm getting where I need to go.

5:44-Yeah, exactly. -It's all good. Yeah.

5:45-I want to show everyone a clip.

5:49-So, I'm just gonna need you to understand

5:51that I cannot be okay right now, fully.

5:54I can't just, like, snap my fingers and be fine.

5:56-I'm not okay, either. I missed Ramona's whole life.

6:02-It makes me so sad when you're sad.

6:05Like I literally can't take it.

6:08It wrecks me, so I -- then I fix it,

6:10but, like, I can't fix it for you right now.

6:17and, like, act like I'm okay, but I'm not,

6:18because I'm the kid.
