The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority issued a travel advisory on Monday about the heavy traffic from Aug 7 to 10.

Travellers should plan ahead and travel during non-peak hours like early mornings and late evenings.

They should also check the traffic before starting their journey.

Travellers should expect longer waiting times due to increased security checks since Feb 28.

During the recent Hari Raya Haji and June school holidays, over 18 million travellers crossed the checkpoints.

On Jun 19, over 598,000 crossings were recorded in a single day, setting a new record.

During peak hours, car travellers waited up to three hours for immigration clearance.

52 motorists were caught for traffic offences during the same period.

Enforcement actions included referrals to traffic police and bans from entering Singapore.

ICA reminded motorists to cooperate with officers and follow traffic rules.

ICA will take firm action against travellers who do not comply with instructions or commit traffic offences.

Those caught queue cutting will be directed to re-join the queue from the back.
