Seven people, including three children, died when a bus crashed and caught fire on a highway in Dong Nai City.

The accident hurt several others and started an investigation.

The bus was going from Khanh Hoa to Ho Chi Minh City with 37 passengers and two staff on board.

The bus crashed and caught fire, killing seven and hurting several others.

Six of the seven people who died have been identified:

One was Tran Thi T., born in 1969, from An Ninh Commune.

Another was N.T.N.Y., born in 2016, from An Ninh Commune.

Le Cong D., born in 1989, from Ninh Hai Commune, also died.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc D., born in 2002, from Ninh Hai Commune, died too.

L.T.V., born in 2022, from Khanh Hoa Province, was another victim.

L.T.K., born in 2024, from Khanh Hoa Province, also died.

The seventh victim, Duy, has not been fully identified yet.

Those hurt include:

Nguyen Hoang Hai Au, born in 2004, from Lam Dong Province.

Ngo Thi Phuong An, born in 2004, from Phan Rang Ward, was hurt.

Tran Thi Diep, born in 1978, from An Ninh Commune, was also hurt.

Nguyen Thi Truc Linh, born in 2001, from Binh Thanh Ward, was hurt.

Vo Tran Minh Thu, born in 2001, from Dong Nai City, was hurt too.

A family with two young children was also hurt in the accident.

The hurt people were taken to hospitals in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.

The bus was owned by Nam Lu Trading and Transport Co., Ltd.

The bus was made in Vietnam in 2026 and had a valid inspection certificate.

The bus had a big diesel engine.

People who survived told about their escape.

They woke up to screams after a loud crash.

Nguyen Thi Kim Trang said she heard a crash and then saw flames.

She said everything happened quickly and there was smoke everywhere.

Trang and her grandchild got out of the bus with the driver's help.

They ran away from the bus as it caught fire.

If they were slower, they might not have made it.

Another survivor, Nguyen Thi Uyen Thu, was asleep when the accident happened.

She left all her things to get out of the bus quickly.

There was chaos inside the bus as people tried to get out.

Thu was not physically hurt but is still very shaken.

She feels lucky to be alive.

The police are investigating the accident.

The bus hit the roadside before it caught fire.

The driver said he was sleepy and lost control before the crash.

The accident caused the engine to stop, and the door could not be opened.

The driver and his helper broke open a door to help people get out.

The police found no alcohol or drugs in the driver's system.

The investigation is still going on.
