I stayed in a treetop cabin in Norway and learned to slow down

What makes treehouses special? Is it the fun of climbing trees or being part of nature? We can't just look at nature, we can be part of it. Treehouses bring back memories of climbing trees when we were kids. They also let us feel like we're part of the natural world.
In Norway's forests, there are many places to get away from it all. But PAN's Treetop Cabins are very special. They are like futuristic triangles, eight meters up in the air. From up here, we can see the treetops and feel like we're in a different world. The cabins are quiet and fit in with the trees.
At night, the cabins are lit up with candles.

I also found a great cabin in Kent that was simple and luxurious.

You should visit Houston for its big rodeo and space exploration.
PAN's Treetop Cabins are less than two hours from Oslo airport. They are in a big forest near the Swedish border. This forest is very old and quiet. It's easy to see why Norway thinks being outdoors is good for us.
Each cabin is like a small house. It has a kitchen, living area, and bathroom. The walls are made of pine, and it's very cozy. The bed is upstairs and looks out at the trees.
The view from the cabin is amazing.
The view from the cabin is great. We can spend all day just looking out the window. We can watch birds, see the sun shine, and even watch a storm. It's fun to watch the weather change. I put down my phone and just enjoyed the peace and quiet. I even read a whole book in one day.
PAN can help with food, and they use local ingredients.
We can make our own food or have PAN help us. They can bring us breakfast and other meals. We had a great breakfast with fresh bread, pancakes, and local cheese. In the evening, I made a yummy elk stew.
Cooking and eating in the cabin feels special. We can look out at the forest and lake while we eat. It's very relaxing.
The cabin has a nice patio area downstairs.
We can eat outside at a table with candles. We can even lie down and look at the stars. It's very peaceful.
The view from the top of the trees is amazing.
There are many things to do around the cabin. We can walk or bike in the forest. This forest is special because it has a lot of history and myths. It's very quiet, and sometimes we can see a strange mist in the distance.
There are still animals like wolves, bears, and lynx in the forest. We saw some of them, but not all. Our host said they are hard to find because they know how to hide.
The cabin has a hot tub in the forest.
The hot tub is a great place to relax. It's like a room with three walls, and the fourth wall is the forest. We can sit in the hot tub, watch the sunset, and feel very happy.
The forest and lake are very beautiful.
We went on a canoe trip down the river. We saw signs of beavers, but they were hard to find. Our guide, Amund, showed us where they lived.
The river is very quiet and peaceful. We can see the forest reflected in the water. We finally saw a beaver, and it was very exciting.
We went canoeing down the river.
If you're driving back to the airport, there are two fun stops to make. They are a little strange, but worth it.
We can stop at a service station that has a famous bakery. They have great buns and cakes.
The bakery is fun, but we should also visit the emerald mines. We can eat our treats there and look for emeralds. It's a fun and special place.
The emerald mines are a great place to visit. We can keep any emeralds we find, and it's a nice memory of our trip.
The cabins are quiet and fit in with the trees.
PAN's Cabins cost £480 per night. We can also pay extra for breakfast and meals. We can book a river kayak trip and other fun activities.
