The price of a gold ring did not change at VND145.2 million per tael. A tael is 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces. Gold prices in Vietnam have fallen 5.8% this year.

Gold prices went up globally on Friday. This was after a surprise drop in US jobs for July. This made people less likely to expect interest rate increases.

The price of gold per ounce went up 2.3% to $4,336.02. It had risen more than 3% to its highest price since June 17.

Gold is set to have its biggest weekly increase since January 19. Prices have gone up more than 7% this week. US gold futures went up 2.3% to $4,399.70.
