Many people have trouble with New Year's resolutions. They often fail. Professor Scot Lear says our goals must be SMART. This means they should be clear, easy to measure, possible to do, useful, and have a deadline. For example, exercise three times a week for 30 minutes for three months. If there are problems, it's okay. Things don't always go as planned. We can learn from our mistakes.
Scot says we must be kind to ourselves and learn from our mistakes.
Some difficult words are: specific, measurable, achievable, and relevant.
