Trump wrote on Truth Social that he is not happy with the US-South Korea military arrangement. He wishes he could cancel the exercises, but it's too late.

Trump said he has a good relationship with Kim Jong Un. He doesn't like that the US has agreed to do military exercises with South Korea. Trump expressed this on Truth Social.

North Korea launched another ballistic missile as the US and South Korea prepare for military drills.

South Korean and US soldiers took part in a military exercise in Pohang, South Korea. This happened on June 13, 2023.

Trump said the military exercises are costly and send a bad signal to North Korea. He thinks this is inappropriate and hostile. The US usually pays for these costs.

Trump linked his frustration with the military exercises to a separate issue with Iran. He mentioned this in the same post.

Trump asked South Korea's president if they wanted to help with Iran's nuclear issue. The president said no. Trump wrote about this on Truth Social.

A North Korea expert warned that the US should always be careful with Kim Jong Un after a missile test.

Trump gave his order a day before a big joint military exercise was set to start. The exercise is called the Ulchi Freedom Shield.

The military exercise is meant to strengthen defense in the Korean Peninsula. About 28,500 US service members are stationed there.

This year's exercise will involve around 18,000 South Korean troops. This is similar to previous years.

North Korea's government does not like the annual drills. They called it a rehearsal for a war last week.

Trump's order came after North Korea tested more weapons. They launched two ballistic missiles within six days.
