Ice Melts, Two Climbers Discovered

Ice Melts, Two Climbers Discovered
The ice in the Alps is shrinking each year. Warmer weather makes glaciers melt more quickly. When the ice gets thinner, it releases objects that have been trapped for many years. Wallis police keep a list of missing people that starts in 1925. Most of the missing were lost in high mountains or in rivers. Police say that old bodies are being found again and again.
For the police, a long‑standing mystery has become a clear case. The same pattern is happening in other countries. In Pakistan, melting ice revealed a man's body 28 years after he disappeared. In 2025, rescuers found the body of a British scientist who had vanished in Antarctica in 1959. In 2023, a German hiker was recovered from another Swiss glacier, almost forty years after he went missing.
