Asia's 'most beautiful island' sees many more foreign visitors

Vietnam's largest island had 1.5 million foreign visitors from January to July. This is 53% more than last year.

Phu Quoc is doing well in tourism. Many other places are not doing as well because of the Middle East crisis.

More people are visiting Phu Quoc. New flights, visa rules, and tourism buildings are helping.

Many foreign tourists visited Phu Quoc airport during the New Year 2026 holiday.

Phu Quoc will give free English classes to locals. This is to prepare for the 2027 APEC meetings.

A leader, Nguyen Thi Kim Loan, said every resident should help with tourism. They want to improve English skills on the island.

A test program will run from September 2026 to June 2027 at some schools. Community English classes will start in some neighborhoods.

Better English skills will help show Phu Quoc's tourism and culture to international visitors before the APEC summit in November 2027.
