After almost seven decades, Hanoi’s beloved 35 Trang Tien ice‑cream shop is closing, and fans are rushing to say goodbye.

The shop opened in 1958 and has been serving customers for 68 years. A brand representative said the 35 Trang Tien outlet had "fulfilled its historic mission" after those 68 years. He added, "We hope customers will take the time to cherish their final memories here."

The brand announced the closure on Sept 4. Since then, visitor numbers have been "huge," the representative said. On Sept 7, long lines formed as people queued to enjoy the last ice‑cream.

The closure is part of a network development plan. The plan aims to build more modern spaces and improve the customer experience. The brand already opened new shops nearby at 18 Hang Bai, 44 Trang Tien and 18 Ngo Quyen.

The shop was listed in 2023 by TasteAtlas as one of the world’s "100 Legendary Ice Cream Parlors." This shows its importance to Hanoi’s food culture.
