Earlier this week, Craig Mann, 60, was found dead in a trailer he shared with his partner, and Sampson Tshombe, a man in his mid‑50s, died after a medical emergency at the festival’s temporary hospital. The Pershing County Sheriff’s Office said there was no sign of foul play in either death and that both will undergo autopsies and toxicology screens.

Officials note that Burning Man averages about one death per year. This year marks the event’s 40th anniversary and draws tens of thousands of attendees to the Nevada desert.
