Durian Prices in Malaysia Go Up Again

Traders in Klang Valley say it's hard to find good durians now. Musang King and Black Thorn durians cost RM25 per kilogram, while other types cost less.

A durian trader said the season is almost over. Most durians from big states like Negri Sembilan, Johor, and Pahang are gone. Only some types from Perak and Kelantan are left.

Durians are harvested in Vietnam.

The season started with many durians in June. Prices went down because there were too many durians. Musang King durians cost as low as RM9 per kilogram.

When prices were low, many people could buy durians. Families and friends got together to eat durians. People shared where to buy cheap durians on social media.

Trader Hazlan Tampong will close his stall soon. He can't find good durians to sell. He will go back to his hometown until the next season.

Hazlan said this season was the best in nine years.

Hazlan said there were too many durians this year. He made more money and could help his workers and customers.

The good harvest helped small traders like Hazlan earn more money. They could also help their workers and customers.
