Tiffany Haddish avoids jail time by pleading guilty to a DUI charge

Tiffany Haddish, an actress from the movie Girls Trip, did not go to jail after pleading guilty to a DUI charge from 2022.

The 46-year-old actress pleaded guilty by video and was given 12 months of probation.

Haddish must stay away from drugs and alcohol, complete a substance abuse evaluation, do 40 hours of community service, and attend a DUI counseling program.

She got credit for the few hours she spent in jail after her arrest in January 2022.

During the hearing, the judge asked Haddish if she agreed to the plea deal her lawyers made.

Haddish said she wanted to finish the case because it had been four years and she was tired of it.

The judge said Haddish's lawyers planned for her to do advocacy work for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for her community service.

Haddish said she wanted to finish the case so she could move on and help people.

Haddish's charges came from an incident in January 2022 when someone called 911 about a person asleep in a car.

A police officer found Haddish's car and stopped her as she pulled into a neighborhood.

Haddish's lawyers asked a judge to dismiss the case, saying the long wait had caused her personal and professional problems.

The judge did not agree with Haddish's lawyers and said she had asked for some of the delays.

Haddish was also arrested in California in November 2023 for driving under the influence.

She made a plea deal in February 2024 and pleaded no contest to a vehicle code violation.

Haddish was given a year of probation, a driver's education program, and 40 hours of community service.
