0:21accidents. In Vinh Long province,

0:23instead of only teaching children in

0:24swimming pools, many swimming classes

0:27are now held directly on local rivers,

0:29allowing them to become familiar with

0:31real-life water conditions while

0:33learning essential survival skills.

0:41standard swimming lanes. The lessons

0:43begin right on the river. The very place

0:46that presents the greatest risk has

0:48become the classroom, where children

0:50learn not only how to swim, but also how

1:58allowing children to practice in natural

2:00currents and real environmental

2:02conditions.

2:09safe.

2:11Teachers closely monitor the children

2:13throughout the class while additional

2:14supervisors remain on shore to provide

2:17immediate assistance if an emergency

2:19occurs.

2:23>> Along these familiar rivers, children

2:26are learning much more than how to swim.

2:29They are learning how to protect

2:30themselves when faced with danger.

2:32During the summer break, together with

2:34the care and supervision of their

2:36families, programs like these are

2:38equipping children with life-saving

2:40skills that can significantly reduce the

2:43risk of drowning in the very environment

2:46where they grow up every day.
