A 600 km Love: How Two Short‑Statured Adults Built a Marriage on Empathy and a Living‑Swap Promise
Both were born with hypopituitarism; Phuong, born in 1994 in Quang Ninh, also has growth‑hormone deficiency and stands 1.28 m tall, while Nhut, born in 1991 in Da Nang, is 1.43 m tall. They first connected on social media in 2020, began regular contact two years later, and fell in love after meeting in person.
The couple married in July 2024, promising to split their time between Quang Ninh and Da Nang, switching homes every six months. From the beginning, both families gave their full support to the marriage.
For the past two years they have kept the promise, living alternately in each city and celebrating holidays with each family, including the Lunar New Year. Their routine shows how a clear arrangement can sustain a long‑distance relationship.
Phuong and Nhut’s experience demonstrates that shared health challenges and a concrete living‑arrangement promise can help a relationship thrive despite a 600 km gap. Their story highlights the power of empathy, commitment, and family support.
