Bac Ninh’s Plan to Link a Huge Fruit Harvest with Buyers
The Department of Industry and Trade forecasts a harvest of about 118,525 tonnes of oranges, pomelos, apples and guavas for late 2026–early 2027, 18.7% higher than in 2025. This increase is expected to boost farmgate prices across the province.
To keep the supply chain transparent, the province has created 91 area codes that cover 1,764.9 ha, with 80 of those codes designated for export markets. These codes help trace each batch of fruit from orchard to buyer. The system is intended to improve market access and meet safety standards.
The Department of Industry and Trade will lead business connections, trade promotion, e‑commerce initiatives and the search for export partners, while the Department of Agriculture and Environment will map growing areas, ensure safe production and support processing. At the October 21 conference, cooperatives and producers signed agreements with logistics firms and wholesale markets to sell the 2026 fruit crop. The strategy stresses linking production to consumption, better quality, modern packaging and the use of export codes to reach buyers in Russia, the UK and China.
By coordinating these actions, Bac Ninh hopes to secure stable orders, raise the value of its fruit and increase farmers’ incomes. The province’s approach demonstrates how government planning can connect a large harvest with both domestic and overseas markets.
