Smith said, 'We need strong conservative leadership that protects our freedoms, supports families, secures borders, and restores accountability in Washington.'
A Trump-backed candidate won the Arizona GOP governor primary.
Rep. Kristen McDonald Rivet is the current representative.
Smith stopped his campaign in July and supported Lemmo. Trump supported Hassan and invited him to a rally.
Hassan talked about his family working for GM. He said, 'The time is now. We're getting back to the fundamentals.'

Smith won just over 50% of the vote and was declared the winner.
Smith said he is 'humbled and honored' to be chosen to run against Rivet.
Rivet won her primary on Tuesday.
She defeated Paul Junge by about six points in the last election.
