Short Film Shows Life of Hanoi's Scrap Collectors

The film Mud Below, Sun Above starts with information about Hanoi's waste, then tells the story of Bể, a 64-year-old woman who collects recyclables. It shows her daily life and struggles.
The film shows the hard work Bể does, like removing labels from bottles, and her thoughts on how society is changing. It gives a personal look at a difficult but important job.
The film was made by Kate Villevoye, a Dutch filmmaker from Hanoi. Her film has been shown at festivals and is now available on Aeon Video.
The movie doesn't ask questions, but it helps people understand and respect the importance of waste collection and the people who do it.
