Strange Vines and Rich Life in Con Dao’s Old Forest

Con Dao National Park was created in 1993. It covers almost 20,000 hectares of land and sea. In 2014 the park became a Ramsar site, showing its international wetland importance.
The forest has vines with unusual shapes. Some vines loop, some climb high, and they become natural places for trekkers to stop. The forest has several layers of trees, shrubs and vines. Each layer is home to insects, reptiles and birds.
Walking the trails lets visitors see untouched nature and take rare photos. The forest looks very different from the island’s usual beaches and sea views.
The forest’s odd vines and rich wildlife make Con Dao’s old forest a unique place to visit. It offers a different experience from the beach and helps people see why the area needs protection.
