Why the Grand Egyptian Museum Is a Must‑See

In its first year, the museum attracted over 5 million visitors, even though the Middle East faces difficulties. The museum holds more than 100 000 ancient Egyptian artifacts, such as King Tutankhamun’s golden mask and his coffin.
From this month until the end of April next year, a nighttime show uses lighting and music to recreate scenes of ancient Egyptian life, like the Nile flooding and harvest. The show lets visitors see history in a modern way.
Japanese support helped build the museum, restore many artifacts, and train local technicians. GEM CEO Ahmed Ghoneim said the museum achieved its goal of attracting more tourists to the pyramid area.
Visitor Hideyuki Ninomiya from Tokyo said he could not see all the exhibits in three and a half hours, showing how much there is to explore. The museum’s large collection, record visitors, night shows, and international help make it a must‑see attraction.
