Gold Prices Go Up After Morning Drop

Saigon Jewelry Company's gold bar price went up 0.72% to VND140.5 million per tael. The price is up 0.36% for the day, but still down 5.08% this week.

The gold ring price went up 1.08% to VND140 million per tael on Friday. One tael is 37.5 grams or 1.2 ounces.

Globally, gold prices kept going down on Friday. This is because of problems in the Middle East that made energy prices go up.

Spot gold went down 0.2% to $4,037.29 per ounce. It had fallen more than $130 from a two-week high on Wednesday.

U.S. gold futures for August were 0.3% lower at $4,039.80.

Analysts at China Zheshang Bank said the recent gold price increase is not supported. If the money behind it stops, the increase will not last.

Investors are waiting for the Fed meeting next week. They think interest rates will stay the same, but might go up in September.
