Why Aaron Kwok Chose a Low‑Pressure International School for His Daughters

VSA is a private independent school in Hong Kong that provides bilingual International Baccalaureate education through the Primary Years Programme, Middle Years Programme and Diploma Programme.

Kwok, 60, said he chose VSA because its teaching style gives his daughters more freedom to learn and develop without excessive academic pressure.

He explained, “There are only a few international schools in Hong Kong. Some of my friends’ children also attend this school, which does not have too much academic pressure. I don’t want my daughters to have to study as soon as they return home and end up with myopia; freedom and happiness are what matter most.”

Aaron Kwok is a Hong Kong pop star known as one of the “Four Heavenly Kings.” The South China Morning Post estimated his net worth at around US$20 million in 2021. He and his wife, model Moka Fang, have two eldest daughters and a younger daughter, Cheryl, who turns one in October.

Kwok’s decision shows that personal concerns—such as avoiding intense study, protecting eye health, and prioritising happiness—can shape school choices, even for families with considerable wealth.
