Brunei's Passport Ranking Falls Slightly

Brunei now ranks 19th in the world for its passport, down from 18th in 2025, with access to 163 countries.

Despite this small drop, Brunei still has one of the strongest passports in Southeast Asia, after Singapore and Malaysia.

Singapore has the best passport in the world, with access to 192 countries.

Japan is second, with access to 188 countries, followed by South Korea, the UAE, and Sweden with 187 countries.

The Henley Passport Index checks how free people are to travel to 227 countries and areas.

It ranks passports by how many places people can visit without a visa. The index is updated often and is a key measure of how free people are to move around the world.
