Thailand Closes 79 Entertainment Venues

Nineteen places were stopped from having live music because they did not have the right permits. Sixty places were closed for not having valid licenses.

Between July 19 and 26, officials checked 865 entertainment places out of 1,204 in the city, which is about 72% of them.

People like to go to bars on Khao San Road in Bangkok. This is a popular area for tourists and nightlife.

There was a fire at a beer hall in Bangkok on July 12 that killed 36 people and hurt 70.

The government will keep checking entertainment places to make sure they are safe and follow the rules.

Tourism is very important for Thailand's economy, but not as many foreigners are visiting as before the pandemic.

In the first half of 2026, Thailand had 16.7 million foreign tourists, which is 3.09% less than the same time last year.
