Macau Hotel Bookings Are High

Macau has many hotels and resorts.

More tourists visited Macau. There were 662,000 foreign guests. This is 12.3% more than last year.

More people came from Thailand and the US. Thai visitors increased by 43.5% to 54,000. US visitors increased by 27.8% to 34,000.

India and South Korea also sent more visitors. India sent 16.1% more visitors. South Korea sent 13% more visitors.

But fewer people came from China and Hong Kong. This made the total number of guests decrease by 1.1%. There were 7.13 million hotel guests.

Five-star hotels were the most popular. They were 93.8% full.

Four-star hotels became more popular. They were 87.4% full.

Even with fewer guests, hotels were still full. This means people stayed longer in Macau.

Tourists did not just visit for the day. They also stayed at night to enjoy the city.

Fewer people booked package tours. Instead, they planned their own trips. This changed the way people travel to Macau.
