Vietnam has two train journeys in the world’s top‑20 list. The rankings are based on 798,867 votes collected in a survey from April 1 to June 30 2026.
The Vietage by Anantara is ranked #14 and runs as a luxury train between Da Nang and Nha Trang. It has a 4.8‑star rating on Google. The route passes historic sites such as Tra Kieu, Quang Ngai and An Khe lake. The six‑hour Da Nang‑Quy Nhon leg includes a three‑course meal, and the five‑hour Quy Nhon‑Nha Trang leg offers afternoon tea with local caviar and artisanal cheeses.
The Vietnam Central Heritage Connection is ranked #10 and was launched early 2024. It runs a three‑hour link between Hue and Da Nang, showing views of Tam Giang‑Cau Hai lagoon, Lang Co Bay and Hai Van pass. The train offers quiet carriages and community carriages with live traditional music. A one‑way ticket costs about $11, the most affordable on the list.
Vietnam’s two trains stand out for luxury, history, scenery and low price. Travelers can enjoy The Vietage’s gourmet meals and historic stops, or the Heritage Connection’s short scenic ride and cheap fare.
