Sab, a 32‑year‑old from Singapore, quit her office job in June to become a travel content creator and freelancer. Her story shows how hard it can be to mix freedom, money and creative work.
After 61 days of traveling alone, Sab says she feels lonely and misses her simple life in Singapore, her friends and home. She told her followers, “I want to go home, guys. Freedom looks very different at different stages of your life.”
Sab explains that paying bills and not having an “anchor” made it hard to focus on creativity. She said she had “lived very irresponsibly” by quitting without preparation.
She is now thinking about a part‑time or remote job to get financial stability while still building her audience. Commenters said everything should be in moderation, a place to come home to is non‑negotiable, and they asked why a hobby should become a job.
Sab’s experience teaches that freedom is good, but a stable base and some income help creative work stay strong. Young people should plan an “anchor” before leaving a job to travel.
