Preparations for the 2027 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in the Phu Quoc special zone are set to bring new job and startup chances for young people in An Giang province. Understanding these plans helps you see where future work and business opportunities may appear.

The provincial People’s Committee recently held a hybrid dialogue with local youth, covering vocational training, employment and the transfer of science and technology. The event aimed to strengthen ties between authorities and young people to boost socio‑economic development.

Chairman Ho Van Mung emphasized that young people play a crucial role in the province’s socio‑economic growth, especially in science and technology. He called for close monitoring of youth participation and for helping them access employment, startup and innovation opportunities.

Mung also said that youth organisations, universities, colleges and vocational schools must link up with corporations on Phu Quoc. Such connections would help introduce jobs and supply the workforce needed for APEC‑related projects.

Nguyen Hoang Ngoc Yen, a youth union member and food‑production entrepreneur, suggested expanding provincial startup support programmes. He urged the creation of links between young entrepreneurs and the business community and the provision of preferential loans to fund investment and expansion.

In short, the APEC 2027 preparations are expected to generate diverse employment opportunities and encourage new startups for An Giang’s youth. By engaging with the proposed training, partnership and loan programmes, young people can turn these prospects into real careers.
