Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper and British University Vietnam signed a memorandum of understanding on media and educational collaboration. The agreement aims to strengthen ties between academia and the media industry and to give students early exposure to the real‑world workplace.

Le Xuan Trung, deputy editor‑in‑chief of Tuoi Tre, said the partnership’s primary goal is to deliver practical benefits to students, better equip them to meet labour‑market demands, and help narrow the gap between classroom knowledge and employers’ real‑world expectations. He hopes concrete programmes will create more opportunities for practical experience.

Students can gain hands‑on experience as early as their first year, rather than waiting until graduation to enter a professional working environment. This early exposure lets them apply classroom knowledge to real tasks.

Paul Julian Bennett, Chief Marketing and Student Recruitment Officer at BUV, explained that employers today look for graduates who can demonstrate what they have done, not just what they have learned. To meet this need, the partnership will include real‑world projects commissioned by businesses, mentoring programmes, industry professionals taking part in teaching, and internships. He noted that traditional university‑business partnerships usually start at the recruitment stage, whereas this collaboration begins earlier during students’ skill‑development phase.

The new collaboration means students will develop practical skills while still studying, making the transition to work smoother. By bridging the gap between theory and practice, the partnership improves job readiness and helps graduates contribute effectively right after graduation.
